Travel Tips

We're so excited to have you join us for the celebration! If you're flying in, Portland International Airport (PDX) is the nearest airport. From there, it's about a 90-minute drive to the wedding venue.

The drive along I-84 is one of the most scenic in the country! Winding through the Columbia River Gorge, you'll witness tall cliffs, graceful waterfalls, and lush forests. If you are from out of town, we recommend stopping to see one of the Gorge's iconic waterfalls, such as Latourell, Bridal Veil, Multnomah, or Wahkeena Falls.

Be aware that there is a $3.50 toll to cross the Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge in Hood River. The toll can be paid with cash or a credit card.

Cafés

Rimsky-Korsakoffee House

Not only is it a great place for late-night ice cream and coffee in SE Portland; Rimsky's is also where we met on our first date! Now here we are, seven and a half years later... You'll never guess what's in the bathroom.

Cotta

If you find yourself in SW Portland, you should visit one of our favorite architecturally significant coffee shops, Cotta. We love coming here before a little walk in the hills or as a well-deserved treat afterward. They serve froyo and make a great afgoto!

Soro Soro

Soro Soro is an adorable Korean cafe that serves an assortment of beverages and baked goods, many of which use matcha powder in unique and delicious ways. For the tiramisu lovers, yes, they have a matcha tiramisu, and yes, you should try it.

Recreation

Hoyt Arboretum

Hoyt Arboretum is one of Harrison’s favorites, and the Redwood Trail is especially wonderful in the summer. You can spend hours at Hoyt walking around looking at the different varieties of trees, and you can spend even more time there trying to find your way back to the car.

International Rose Test Garden

June is the perfect time to see the roses in bloom! The IRTG is a classic destination for anyone visiting Portland during the summer. If you're looking for a double (or triple) feature, Hoyt Arboretum and the Portland Japanese Garden are next door!

Forest Park

At 5,200 acres and with over 80 miles of trails, Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country. If you enjoy forest walks/hikes, we recommend paying it a visit; the walk from Jay Trailhead to Pittock Mansion isn't very long and will reward you with a fantastic view of Portland.

Oregon Historical Society

For anyone who enjoys regional history, the museum includes some standing exhibits and a rotating exhibit, which currently features women aviation pioneers in the 1930s.

Restaurants

Broder

There is brunch galore in Portland, OR, and one of our favorite brunch spots is Broder! Enjoy a delicious Danish breakfast, which of course would not be complete without æbleskiver! Locations in NE, SE, and SW.

RJ Skillets

This is a recent but instant favorite for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! If you try it, we recommend anything with green chili sauce or mole.

Face Plant

Imagine getting a little cheeseburger from McDonald's and a regular cheeseburger from In-N-Out—but vegan! Vegan shakes are also coming soon... allegedly.

Edelweiss Sausage & Delicatessen

Edelweiss is a precious gem for those who enjoy saurkraut, weiners, and imported German vittles. It's also a holy site on the Triple D pilgrimage. However, if you're a vegetarian, this spot may not be for you, unless you're okay filling up on beer, saurkraut, and potato salad.
